Border Patrol Agents arrest convicted sex offender

Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)—Fort Brown agents working near Brownsville arrested a woman with previous conviction for a sexually related crime.

According to a news release, agents arrested several undocumented immigrants on Thursday after they tried to enter the United States.

Record checks showed a woman, later identified as Maria Guadalupe Peinado-Sanchez, revealed a previous arrest by the Foley, Alabama Police Department.

A judge had found her guilty of being complicit of aiding and abetting the sexual abuse of a child, according to the release.

The judge sentenced her to 10 years confinement, which was subsequently reduced to three years probation.
