Weslaco resident dies after speeding into drainage ditch

WESLACO, Texas – A Weslaco resident is dead after speeding into a drainage ditch. The incident happened on Saturday around midnight on 34th Street west of Hopper Road. Police say 27-year-old Horacio Reyes was traveling westbound at an unsafe speed. He swerved to the south side of the roadway causing the vehicle to roll over into a drainage ditch. Authorities also say Reyes was ejected through the drivers window and was pronounced dead at the scene.
