WESLACO, Texas (KVEO)—Weslaco Mayor and two District Commissioners announce they tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a release, all three are currently self isolating in their homes.

“Even though I have a fever, chills, and a headache, I am otherwise doing okay but will continue to monitor my symptoms and remain in quarantine for at least 14 days and show no symptoms of COVID-19,” said Mayor Suarez.

The release states that the mayor and commissioners have not met in person in more than three weeks, so the cases are unrelated.

The Weslaco City Commission meetings will continue to meet via Zoom.
