Valley librarians encourage reading with new methods

PHARR, Texas – Several PSJA librarians are producing virtual book talks and read alouds to encourage students to read while at home.

According to a press release, the librarians utilize green screens, props, and costumes to make the stories come alive for students and their families.

This week the librarians will begin launching a series of TikTok videos to remind students the importance of reading.

The read alouds provide students the ability to watch and hear the stories as they read along. In book talks, the librarians speak about their favorite book to get students excited about reading.
