Valley high school baseball player headed to national trials

News

MCALLEN, Texas – A student from McAllen High School is making headlines as a pitcher and shortstop for the Bulldogs. Aaron Nixon’s participation in the Prospect Development Pipeline, where his coach was former New York Yankee Derek Jeter, has led him to the USA Baseball Trial Camp in Los Angeles where he will have a chance to be selected for Team USA.

Nixon says, “Team USA trials, it’s a week-long and if you make the 20 in that one week then you stay another week in Los Angeles. After that you go to Taiwan for a week and then you go to South Korea for the week for the World Cup to play all over the country.”

Nixon will be headed to the trial camp Monday, August 12.
