USDA restricts McAllen PACA violator from operating in the produce industry

The USDA has imposed sanctions on a McAllen business following that businesses’ failure to meet it’s contractual obligations.

These sanctions come as a part of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities act (PACA) which was made to ensure fair trading practices within the produce industry. These sanctions include a suspension of the businesses’ PACA license and a ban on the owners from engaging in other PACA-licensed businesses without USDA approval.

The business, Agro Torres Produce LLC, was given these sanctions after failing to pay an $11,323 award to a Massachusetts seller.

When the sanctions were issued, Osvelia Torres Chaves and Ricardo Martinez Moreno were listed as members of the business.
