HARLINGEN, Texas (KVEO) — The Texas Association of Business held a virtual press conference on Wednesday to discuss the future of Texas’ economic growth and opportunity.
At the meeting, officials discussed the MPO merger in the Valley and highway infrastructure and funding. They mention that both are helping the economy locally and in Texas.
“I think it has helped position our region to be competitive against other major metropolitan areas in the state. I think it’s going to pay huge dividends for us in the long term.”
Officials at the meeting also mentioned that lawmakers should consider legislation for driverless cars, for Texas to remain on the ‘cutting edge of highway infrastructure.’
