PADRE ISLAND, Texas – The suspects accused of stealing a vehicle belonging to a New Hampshire couple found buried in a shallow grave on Padre Island have made their first appearance in court.
Adam Curits Williams has appeared in a Kleberg County courtroom on Friday.
An arrest affidavit released by the Kleberg County Sheriff indicates Williams was pulled over for not wearing his seatbelt and issued a citation, three days before the couple went missing.
The vehicle he was driving was impounded just days before Williams was seen in a surveillance photo crossing into Mexico with the victim’s vehicle.
Williams and the woman he was with, Amanda Noverr, are being charged with auto theft.
Noverr appeared before the judge immediately after Williams.
The judge assigned both suspects court-appointed attorneys before they were led out of the courtroom.
