Streetlight projects near completion

EDINBURG, Texas – By the end of this month traffic lights in two locations at Edinburg intersections will be fully operational.

The traffic lights will help increase traffic mobility to area residents.

The Texas Department of Transportation has been working on this project with help from the City of Edinburg and we are now seeing steady progress.

By next week, the lights at the Jackson and Wisconsin Intersections, as well as the McColl and Wisconsin intersections will be flashing yellow.

“We have some signage that needs to go up, railroad crossings, signal ahead signage. The striping has already been completed as well. The cabinets have already been shipped out. These are the certified cabinets,” said Vincent Romero Edinburg Director of Public Works.

These lights are expected to help ease the traffic flow between McAllen and Edinburg. Rio Valley Switching Company is also a partner in this project.
