SAN ANTONIO – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic San Antonio’s Fiesta, which was delayed until November, has been officially canceled.
Fiesta, 2020 was supposed to take place from November 5 to the 15. The Fiesta commission announced the cancellation of the event on Friday.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce Fiesta San Antonio will not take place in 2020.” said the statement from the event’s commission.
The committee stated the health and safety of guests and volunteers are high priority. San Antonio has not missed a Fiesta event since World War II.
City and event officials say they are hopeful the iconic festival will return as scheduled in April 2021.
