South Padre Island Prohibiting Sound Devices on Golf Carts

News

The City of South Padre Island now prohibiting sound devices on golf carts within the city limits, including devices like blue tooth and stereo systems.

Golf carts are a popular form of transportation on the island.

The city council approved the measure last week in the interest of the health, safety and welfare of the city.

Violation of the ordinance will be a Class C Misdemeanor with a fine no less than one dollar and no more than $500.

This ordinance will go into effect immediately upon its passage, approval, and publication.
