Shelters to transition back to respective counties

HARLINGEN, Texas — Starting this evening at 7:00, all shelters for those impacted by the recent flooding will transition back to their respective counties. The American Red Cross determined that residents have found alternate lodging and no longer need temporary emergency shelter.

Since June 24, the nonprofit has served more than 85,000 meals and snacks, distributed more than 26,000 relief supplies including comfort kits with hygiene items and clean-up kits and provided over 1,200 overnight stays in shelters.
