School donates food to homeless shelter

News

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Thanksgiving has started early for students at the Episcopal Day School in Brownsville.

The school set out to collect over 1,000 food items for the Ozanam Homeless Shelter as a part of a school-wide food drive.

Instead, the students shattered their goal with over 3,500 items collected this season.

Both students and organizers were excited by the accomplishment and glad to help the homeless.

“To collect and reflect the virtue of generosity. So, we’ve been collecting food for the Ozanam Center and we’ve collected over 3,500 items to give to them,” said Allison Acosta a teacher at the Episcopal Day School.

The items were received by the director of the Ozanam Center, who says the organization is grateful for the community support.
