SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (KVEO)– Beach Park at Isla Blanca Waterpark announces they will be reopening Friday, May 29.
Formely known as Schlitterbahn South Padre Island, the water park will be implementing enhanced measures of health and safety, according to a release.
The Park says they also expanded their sanitizing department, that way, to enhance the cleaning of surfaces around the park. This includes, lockers, handrails, door handles, tubes, life jackets, seating areas and table tops.
“There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the water used in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (with chlorine or bromine) of pools should kill COVID-19.” said Jimmy Hawkinson, Beach Park General Manager. “Staff have been, and will continue to receive temperature checks prior to their work day beginning”
Beach Park will be operating at a limited capacity upon opening. “This means shorter lines and more time enjoying all of our great water activities for guests, and we encourage guests to arrive early to ensure entry” said Hawkinson.
The waterpark features more than 15 attractions including four uphill water coasters, the famous Surf Rider inland wave attraction, three body slides, two tube chutes, several beaches, a wave lagoon, a beach boardwalk, heated swim-up pool, multiple kids’ areas and the Rio Aventura Transportainment River.
