San Benito Police investigating fatal hit and run

SAN BENITO, Texas – On July 21 at about 12:40 a.m., a San Benito Police patrolman located an unresponsive male subject near the street on North Frontage by Stephanie Lane. Upon checking the male, the officer noticed that the male had several injuries consistent with someone having been struck by a motor vehicle.

EMS personnel were called out to the scene to provide medical attention but the male had died of his injuries. The male is identified as 46-year-old Willie Lee Williams Jr. of San Benito. Investigators are currently looking for a maroon in color passenger vehicle, possibly a Nissan Sentra, with damage to the front passenger side.
