BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Texas Workforce Commission releasing the latest unemployment numbers for August 2019.
According the agency, Texas continues an all-time record low unemployment rate at 3.4 percent. While there was an overall decrease to the rate from previous years, cities in the Rio Grande Valley continue to be at the bottom of the list with some of the highest unemployment rates in the state.
The Brownsville Harlingen area remain above 5.6 percent. Similarly, the McAllen, Edindburg, Mission area have a high unemployment rate of 6.4 percent.
