RGV Partnership to discuss 5G Wireless Network Technology

MCALLEN, Texas — 5G Wireless Network Technology will soon be coming to the Rio Grande Valley. What impact will it have to the region? It’s a topic the RGV Partnership will discus Thursday evening. The forum will take place from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the McAllen Convention Center.

The RGV Partnership President/CEO will moderate the forum along with a guest panel. Included in that group will be McAllen Mayor Jim Darling and District 39 Representative Armando Martinez.

Sergio Contreras, President/CEO RGV Partnership, “Municipalities will need to work with providers to allow them the opportunity to place infrastructure. What’s called “small cells” as small as a tablet. So to do that they will need to engage with each other and that will be part of the conversation.”

Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. The forum is free and open to the public. All valley residents are encouraged to attend.
