Residents remain flooded in McAllen

News

MCALLEN, Texas (KVEO) — In McAllen residents along Cornell Avenue remain under water.

This is the second year in a row that residents have experienced flooding and said it is because of the construction of a baseball park behind the subdivision.

“I’ve lived here since 2010, there was no incident of flooding for eight years until that park was built. So, is it a coincidence that all of a sudden we’re flooding now?” said Veronica Garza.

City Manager Roy Rodriguez said they are aware of the flooding and have a major storm sewer construction project in the works to fix the drainage.
