BROWNSVILLE, Texas – They say a picture is worth a thousand words. When it comes to preserving history, you may have to multiply that by a thousand. We would know a lot less about the history of the Rio Grande Valley if it weren’t for some early photographers like Robert Runyan. Cameron County Historical Commissioner Eugene Fernandez has more about the photographs and legacy he left behind.
