PORT ISABEL, Texas – Authorities on high alert after a shooting threat at Port Isabel High school. Sources tell Local 23 News the student has been identified and detained after making a threat on social media. This comes less than 24 hours after Governor Greg Abbott signs eight executive orders meant to strengthen local law enforcement in response to mass shootings.
State Representative Alex Dominguez saying that it is time legislators talk about gun control.
Point Isabel ISD says they are notifying parents through the Blackboard Message System. The district, neighboring police departments, and the FBI are investigating the case.
