MISSION, Texas (KVEO) – A protest took place in Mission, Monday, with protesters chanting “Black Lives Matter.”

They wanted to show that peaceful protests can happen.

Bishop Elect Michael Smith said that they wanted to acknowledge Black Lives Matter.

“Whatever you do, make sure we understand equality, because equality lets us know we are all equal. Together as one, and as a pastor, that is what god wants us to do as well. To make sure we come together, on one accord,” said Michael Smith, Bishop Elect, Pastor of Faith Fellowship Church in McAllen.
