Palm Valley Animal Society to expand foster program

News

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – The Palm Valley Animal Society is receiving a grant to help those fostering during the pandemic.

The grant comes from Maddie’s Fund, a nationwide organization that helps animal centers in need.

Palm Valley Animal Society applied for a grant and was awarded $20,000. The money will go to make kits for fosters, who cannot find the items they need.

“We are hoping to make about 300 kits, depending on where we can find things, and if we get more donations, we can make more kits. But, with the grant, we believe we can make about 300,” said Julian Whitacre, Development Coordinator for the Palm Valley Animal Society

The kits will help keep the animals comfortable and help with kennels, food, and if the foster does not know where to find the items they need.
