More power outages expected in Brownsville

News

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A recent power outage has personnel from the Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) replacing equipment and performing inspections.

According to BPUB officials one of the outages was caused by birds roosting on the power lines.

In response to the birds, BPUB crews have installed bird guards to keep birds from causing future problems.

The most recent outage was caused when a utility line, which is not owned by BPUB, fell on one of BPUB’s power lines.

BPUB apologizes for the frustrations of its customers and any inconveniences these outages might have caused.

If customers have any questions or concerns, they should call (956) 983-6121. In case of an outage, customers are directed to call (956) 983-6300 or use BPUB’s outage notification application.
