Mission hit-and-run suspect turns himself in

MISSION, Texas – A driver accused of killing a man in hit-and-run in Mission Saturday night has turned himself in to authorities.

22-year-old Mauro Esparza was arraigned this morning on accident involving injury or death charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash killing 22-year-old Jesus Zamudio Diaz.

Mauro Esparza’s bond is set at $250,000 and he could face up to 20 years in prison.

23-year-old Ruby Esparza was also charged for failure to report the incident. She is facing up to a year in prison with her bond set at $5,000.
