RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – A caravan with hundreds of migrants has been blocked from heading to the U.S. border.
In the Rio Grande Valley officials say the number of migrants attempting to cross through our border has dropped significantly.
But, over the weekend Mexico started seeing these large groups.
Mexican authorities have detained around 2,000 migrants.
The migrants are from Central America, Africa, and the Caribbean, some have been stalled for weeks or months.
The government has been making it harder to get permission to travel through the country, and harder to stay in Mexico.
