McAllen “Refreshing” store fronts in business corridors

MCALLEN, Texas – The city of McAllen is launching a new program by partnering with small businesses to refresh store fronts in business corridors.

Refresh 50/50 is a revitalization grant which aims to stimulate and improve the physical, economical and cultural vitality of businesses in McAllen. Businesses in certain areas can apply for a matching grant of $15,000. Designated areas include 10th street from Houston Avenue to Nolana, U.S. Business 83 from McColl to 29th Street, 23rd Street from Idela Avenue to Pecan and South Ware from Idela to Pecan.

Rebecca Olagulbel, Director of Business & Retail Development, “The city of McAllen feels that small business is the heartbeat of our city. We feel partnering with small businesses is a great idea.”

Official say by refreshing a store front, they hope to create an amazing
atmosphere for the business and are excited to begin their first projects.
