Man drowns at Port Isabel Ship Channel, Cameron Co. Sheriff says

Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)-A 56-year-old man died Monday while tying his boat to a marker in the Port Isabel Ship Channel.

Police: 48-year-old man drowned while swimming near South Padre Island

According to Cameron County Sheriff Eric Garza, the man was not wearing a life vest.

His 18-year-old son was unable to save him due to rough conditions.

The man’s body was recovered by the United States Coast Guard.
