WESLACO, Texas – One person is been killed in a single-vehicle crash.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is identifying the driver as 53-year-old Homero Herrera of Weslaco.
The crash happened on FM 1425 south of state highway 107 in Mercedes around noon on Thursday.
Troopers said Hererra was driving a black Ford pickup northbound on FM 1425 when he veered off the roadway and ended up in a canal area.
Herrera sustained critical injuries and died at the scene
The investigation into this deadly crash is ongoing.
