HARLINGEN, Texas – The Harlingen CISD is looking to close the gap between education and private business.
Members of the Harlingen Area Education Foundation host a special luncheon for industry leaders in order to showcase some of the vocational programs offered by the school district. Each year the Partners in Education Program raises funds for workforce ready courses.
Eric Kennedy, Harlingen Area Education Foundation, “It’s really about the private industry getting involved and providing those resources for the kids. They can become more educated and be ready to hit the workforce or be ready and educated into college in the long run as well.”
The local organization hopes to provide programs that would fill jobs for local employers.
