Woman Remembers Hearing Lots of Noise and Screaming Before Neighbor’s Death

Local News

A woman’s screams are heard coming from a home in San Juan and police find her dead inside.

These are details coming in from a death investigation by the police.

It is on the 700 block of Shufford Street where San Juan Police are conducting a death investigation. Currently not much is known, only this.

News Center 23 received a statement from San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez. The chief said it was just after 8:00 on Thursday evening that police were called out by the woman’s family to conduct a welfare check. It was at that time police discovered the woman’s deceased body and a man inside the home. Police say they took the man into custody.

An autopsy will be performed on the woman to determine the cause of death. Neighbor Lourdes Acevedo said she heard screams coming from the home.

“The only thing I heard was a lot of noise. Screams of a woman but the police were already there
That’s the only thing I heard because I went inside. There was a lot of noise, a lot of screams
from a woman but nothing else.”

KVEO reached out to San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez for an on camera interview. Calls to his office and cell phone were not returned.
