Warm 90 degree temperatures this late in October may have you wondering. Will there be any fall or winter weather in the Rio Grande Valley?
According to the National Weather Service, the winter outlook looks above average. But that doesn’t necessarily mean there will be no arctic winds bringing about some very cold days in between.
So, should or should you not be pulling out your winter wardrobe this year?
Barry Goldsmith with the National Weather Service says, “If you think that it’s just going to be 80 degrees every single day and 62 degrees every single morning meaning you don’t have to worry about winter clothes, you’d be making a big mistake because those fronts will come and they tend to come anywhere from mid-December and mid-February. So, maybe through November you might be okay but even then we’ve had thanksgivings that have been in the 50’s during the day and in the 40’s at night and for people around here, that’s definitely sweater weather so I would not put them away, get them out put them in the corner so if you need to grab them, you can go grab them.”
