Non-essential retail stores set to open April 24

PHARR, Texas — Essential and non-essential businesses will re-open Friday under Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order Retail-To-Go model.

It is apart of the governor’s plan to slowly reopen the state safely.

However, shopping under this executive order will be different compared to traditional shopping.

While you can shop at any store, you will not be permitted to enter any business. All purchases must be made over the phone or online.

Retail employees will be required to service customers curb-side only, that way employees can deliver items to your backseat or trunk.

Stores can also deliver items through the mail or to your doorstep.

For everyone’s safety, the executive order requires employers to screen their employees, including a temperature check.

Officials are urging the public to wash or sanitize their hands after every transaction.
