Weslaco City Mayor, David Suarez is asking residents to remain calm during this time.

As Mayor, I want to reassure Weslaco citizens this is not a time to panic.

The city is asking the public to refrain from bulk purchases or hoarding supplies, as it only delays restocking of necessary products.

Mayor Suarez says in the release, “All efforts to date are precautionary measures and not mandates.”

The release adds residents should also limit clinic and hospital visits. They advise you to call your physician prior to arriving and that emergency rooms be used for emergencies only.
