Weslaco activates weather shelter ahead of cold front

The city of Weslaco is activating an emergency cold weather shelter ahead of the expected cold front on Feb. 26.

According to a release, those in need of shelter can go to the First Baptist Church located at 600 South Kansas Street on Wednesday.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. The release states they will remain open until 7 a.m.

The shelter will be available to families, women and men seeking overnight shelter.
