Veterans Choice Signs to go in Hospitals

Local News

New mural sized signs are expected in valley hospitals in support of local veteran healthcare.

Earlier this month Congressman Ruben Hinojosa revealed plans to improve medical care for veterans.

Part of this plan includes having a large ‘VETERANS CHOICE’ sign on hospitals where veterans can receive emergency care.

Right now, The Rio Grande Valley does not have a dedicated Veterans hospital.

The nearest emergency facility for veterans is in San Antonio.

Congressman Hinojosa states, “…the payments to these providers will be made expeditiously and that will make a big difference in the attitude of hospital administrators, as well as doctors who can offer those services in their respective clinics…”

The signs are expected to go up within 90 days at Valley Baptist Medical Center of Harlingen and Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
