Veterans and Toll Road Fee Reimbursements

Local News

The Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority is helping veterans with their ‘United for Veterans’ program. Those with a State of Texas vehicle specialty license plates marked Disabled Veteran, Purple Heart Recipient, or Legion of Valor are eligible to be reimbursed for using the SH 550 toll road. Qualifying veterans are asked to send the CCRMA a copy of your charges to be reimbursed.

Michelle A. Lopez the CCRMA Marketing and Communications Director says, “So far we have fifty to sixty disabled vets in our program, which is great and we have a lot of donors too. We’ve gotten a lot of good responses and that’s the way his program works. CCRMA isn’t providing the funds, we’re getting funds from donations from entities like law firms, we have restaurants, car dealerships that have signed up and also hospitals.”

This service applies to qualifying veterans not just in Cameron County, but also those visiting from other counties.
