In Hidalgo County some school districts earned A’s in their report cards. Among those are McAllen ISD and Edinburg CISD.
Both superintendents are very happy with their results. Edinburg scoring 90 out of 100 and McAllen 92 out of 100. In order to receive an A rating each school district must excel in three areas. Student achievement, closing gaps, and school progress.
Dr. Jose A. Gonzalez – McAllen ISD Superintendent said, “We’re making sure that students are ready with regard to their future and ensuring that from a post-secondary stand point that they’re college and career ready. Our teachers are doing a phenomenal job.”
Rene Gutierrez – Edinburg CISD Superintendent said, “Every summer we write our curriculum and we do a lot of training with our teachers. We provide them with all the materials and supplies that we can. All of those efforts have helped us over the years to continue to improve our curriculum and instructions program.”
Both superintendents added that closing performance gaps is their top priority and will continue to work towards reaching the goal of 100.
