MISSION, Texas – The Mission CISD has been awarded over $367,000 to purchase a special two-way digital radio system for security officers. It woul allow officers to communicate with first responders faster. The funding will also cover a panic button style emergency alert system at each of the district’s schools.
Martin Castañeda, Safety and Security Coordinator – Mission CISD, “In the event of an emergency that panic button will be available. Ready to send out a signal to a centralized location where they will receive that notification and to be able to send emergency responders to the location.”
Officials say the system is expected to be fully operational by spring 2020.
