Valley lawmakers want more COVID-19 test kits available for the Rio Grande Valley

Local News

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A number of Texas congressmen are urging Governor Greg Abbott to make available more COVID-19 testing in the Rio Grande Valley. Congressmen Filemon Vela and Vicente Gonzalez wrote a letter to the governor asking for more testing kits. They say there is a lack of testing in the Valley.

They are asking for drive-thru mobile testing to help decrease the spread of the coronavirus. With Texas having the highest uninsured rate in the nation, they say it makes us more vulnerable to the spread of the virus and are urging for some change.
