The City of McAllen International Bridge System said in a release there are no plans to close the international bridges.
The city is addressing the concerns after false emails and chats are being distributed on social media claiming the bridges will be closed Friday, March 13.
According to the release, customers can continue to utilize either the Anzalduas International Bridge or the McAllen-Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.
The release read in part:
The bridges will continue to remain in operation during normal business hours with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and their Mexican counterparts continuing their mission of inspection of all people, vehicles and goods traveling between the two countries.
