Donna ISD is receiving more than $208,000 from the Texas Workforce Commission. Texas Workforce Commissioner of Labor Julian Alvarez and his staff will present the check.
This is the first time Donna ISD has received a grant from TWC. The money will go toward purchasing much needed equipment for DISD’s welding program. DISD is seeing more students enrolling in (CTE) programs and receiving certificates/licenses. As many as 550 certificates and licenses are expected to be awarded at the end of the 2018-19 school year, a record number for the district.
The check presentation will be on Thursday, Jan. 17. at 10:00 a.m. at the Donna High School Career and Technology Building, Welding Rm. 107 located at 2301 Eastwood Avenue.
