Valley High School Encouraging Student Wellness

Local News

Weslaco High School is encouraging their students to be healthy. Recently the school held its fourth annual Working on Wellness Health Fair.

The students participated in several activities like dancing and playing soccer. They learn the importance of staying active to prevent diseases like diabetes and lowering cholesterol.

Evelia Castillo, Diabetes Education Program Director says, “A lot of it is through education. You can control and manage your diabetes by eating healthy. Having a healthy nutrition, physical activity and monitoring your diabetes. Making sure where you’re at and see if you have to make any adjustments.”
