HARLINGEN, Texas (KVEO) — As the 4th of July approaches, a Valley doctor is asking residents planning a celebration to practice social distancing.

Dr. Christopher Romero, Physician Advisor at Valley Baptist Health System says people should be aware of large gatherings.

“If you are going to be going out over the holiday weekend or just in general, people need to be aware that they are a risk to others, and others are a risk to them.”

Romero adds that residents should wear a mask, wash their hands often and encourages social distancing.
