Valentine’s Day cards being collected for veterans

Congressman Vicente Gonzalez announced the first ‘Valentines for Vets’ program on Thursday.

The release states the program will collect and distribute Valentine’s Day cards to local veterans.

The community is encouraged to drop off  or mail their cards at the following location:

McAllen Office

1305 W. Hackberry Ave.

McAllen, TX 78501

Office Hours: Monday – Friday

9:00am – 6:00pm CT

“Our brave service men and women are owed the greatest amount of respect and admiration for their sacrifice to our country. This Valentine’s Day, I hope the community will join me in honoring our troops with a small token of appreciation,” said Congressman Gonzalez in the release. “A heartfelt card or handwritten note is a great way to give back to those who have given so much for our country.”

The deadline to submit is Feb. 7. This aims to be an annual event.
