UTRGV to close Monday due to hurricane damage

EDINBURG, Texas – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley announced they will close on Monday, July 27. The closure due to conditions related to Hurricane Hanna that include power outages, torrential rainfall and flooding.

UTRGV said Monday’s closure means all classes will be cancelled. All campus/off-campus facilities and UT Health RGV clinics and testing sites will be closed to the UTRGV campus community.

The university urges UT Health RGV physicians and staff to stay home from all UT Health RGV sites. Individuals assigned to hospitals and other facilities should check with their chairs and supervisors for instructions.
