The South Texas Border Chapter, Texas Master Naturalist invited the public to its regular monthly meeting to join a discussion on the quality of water.
The invited speaker was Dr. Jude Benavides, an instructor at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Brownsville, an expert and advocate for geo-hydrology.
The public got the opportunity to listen in and hear about the Arroyo Colorado and the Brownsville Resaca.
Benavides said water is something that we should always keep an eye on.
“I think we have to pay careful attention to how we use our water resources in the future and even now.”
Benavides added that if you want to learn more about water in the area, you can visit https://www.arroyocolorado.org or you can visit the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality website.
