UTRGV celebrates opening of campus Apple stores

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is expanding technology options with the first campus Apple store south of San Antonio. UTRGV celebrating the opening of Vaquero Tech Centers in campus bookstores. Starting today, students can now buy Apple products in both the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses. It is part of the school’s efforts to make technology affordable for its students.

Dr. Art Brownlow, Deputy Provost’s Fellow for Academic Innovation, “In this increasingly digital world, our students need to graduate with digital skills. Because that’s the way the job market is going. This will provide them with affordable access to technology.”

Along with the grand opening, the Apple certified campus store will host one day sales on Macs, iPads and Apple watches.
