US CBP says bridge operation to remain the same

Local News

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Currently, there is no directive from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection indicating the mandatory closure of Land Port of Entries. Cameron County is in constant communication with local, state, and federal government entities CBP and Mexican counterparts. At this time local international bridge operations are to remain the same and the county continues to handle any and all commercial, passenger vehicles, and pedestrian traffic.

  • Veterans International Bridge at Los Tomates open from 6:00 a.m. to midnight
  • Gateway International Bridge open 24 hours
  • Free Trade International Bridge at Los Indios open from 6:00 a.m. to midnight

The safety and well-being of the general public is the county’s primary focus. Updates will be given as they arrive. The county is committed to the connectivity among our international border crossings and sister cities and will take precautionary measures as needed.
