The revised schedule is as follows. The Summit will be bilingual for parents, on Aug. 18 from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and English for youth on August 20 from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

WESLACO, Texas – The Uniting Neighbors in Drug Abuse Defense (UNIDAD) Coalition a program from Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas, will be hosting a “Strengthening Roots: A Virtual Family Engagement Summit”.
The agency said the summit will focus on strategies to encourage and motivate parents in bonding and maintaining positive relationships with their children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is a two day event that will be started off by comedian/magician and Rio Grande Valley native Oscar Munoz. The first day will be for the adults on how to address alcohol use with teens, setting rules and guidelines during this time at home. In addition there will be the opportunity to address stress management.
The summit will conclude with an activity focused on family dynamics, the respect between parent and child relationships. It will be structured and tailored for a youth audience and will include Prevention Specialist and Youth Speaker Ray Lozano, said the release.
