McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Transportation reports the I-2 westbound main lanes at the 2nd Street underpass have reopened.
A spokesperson for TxDOT says the northbound lanes on the 2nd Street bridge will remain closed until further repairs are made.
TxDOT does not have a time frame for the completion of the repairs.
The overpass was struck by a vehicle Tuesday night causing the closure of the I-2 westbound main lanes.
The impact caused debris to cover the roadway and motorists were forced to find alternative routes.
